What’s is a Trail Network Study?
A Trail Network Study is a formal planning document that evaluates our existing trails to identify opportunities for improvement. This type of study includes an inventory of current trails, an analysis of user needs, environmental considerations, and recommendations for future development or enhancements within the Northumberland County Forest.
Identify opportunities for improvement, expansion and refinement of trail network
Develop a 10-year trail network strategic plan
Address conflicting uses and user groups
Ensure alignment with environmental, legal and forest management priorities
Engage with the interest-holders and the public
Provide a clear implementable Trail Network Study
